The amount of products containing undisclosed ingredients reaching pharmaceutical shelves makes it more difficult for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to appropriately regulate the dietary supplement industry. As a result, the increasing presence of tainted sexual enhancement products has become a significant cause for concern. Most recently, officials at the FDA discovered small amounts of an undisclosed ingredient in “Hard Ten Days,” a male sexual enhancement product. The FDA analysis discovered traces sildenafil, the active ingredient used in Viagra. While sildenafil is an FDA approved prescription drug for Erectile Dysfunction (ED), it could pose as a potential threat to those who take it unknowingly.
When taken approximately 30 minutes before sexual intercourse, “Hard Ten Days” pills are intended to amplify several sexual experiences. Subsequently, these pills are intended to extend the period in which an erection is held and sexual intercourse lasts. By stimulating the appropriate glands, “Hard Ten Days” provides men with more strength, energy and stamina.
Unfortunately, “Hard Ten Days” is the byproduct of allegedly negligent practices. According to a recent analysis conducted by the FDA, “Hard Ten Days” contains traces of an undisclosed drug. Upon completing the lab analysis, officials discovered the presence of sildenafil.
According to the FDA, sildenafil may react adversely with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates and are therefore at an increased risk of suffering from catastrophic complications.
Though approved by the FDA, sildenafil may be dangerous if certain circumstances should present themselves. By neglecting to list these active ingredients on the label, the developer has demonstrated a blatant disregard for public safety. Consumers who use “Hard Ten Days” may be at an increased risk of developing extremely low blood pressure levels. A condition, which left untreated, can prove fatal.
Low blood pressure, otherwise known as hypotension, occurs when blood pressure during and after each heartbeat is much lower than usual. This means the heart, brain, and other parts of the body do not get enough blood. Severe hypotension starves your body of oxygen, which can damage the heart, brain, and other organs. This type of hypotension can be life threatening if not immediately treated.
