Spinach Recall Overview
Random sampling composed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) discovered traces of Salmonella bacterium contained within 9 oz. bags of Fresh Express spinach. The contaminated spinach was distributed to the states of Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine. There is a high possibility of redistribution of the contaminated spinach to a number of other states which creates an increased risk of Salmonella food poisoning throughout the region.
The spinach recall includes the following contaminated products:
- 9 oz. bags of spinach with product codes starting with H081 and H082
- UPC Codes of 7127913204
- Use-by Dates of April 6 and 7
