Stryker Rejuvenate Recall and Lawsuit
If you or your loved one has had a Stryker Rejuvenate hip implant surgery, you face serious risks of injuries and complications. In light of numerous adverse event reports and widespread concern, Stryker Orthopaedics has recalled two of their hip implant models. Distribution of the Rejuvenate and ABG II modular-neck stems were halted after it was discovered that the devices are prone to fretting and corrosion that can cause severe pain, swelling and other serious complications. In addition to seeking medical attention for these symptoms, we also encourage you to discuss your case with a California lawyer from our firm to learn more about pursuing a lawsuit against Stryker Orthopaedics.
As part of the Urgent Field Safety Notice release by Stryker, the Rejuvenate hip implant was revealed to pose numerous potential hazards. These include:
- Excessive metal debris and metal ions from corrosion
- Metallosis, metal poisoning, tissue damage, and severe pain
- Allergic reaction in patients with metal sensitivity
- Bone loss due to metal particles
The dangers of metal on metal implants have been known to many medical professionals throughout the healthcare community. There have also been several other hip replacement products recalled from the market and the amount of liability claims has risen dramatically.
