Orange County prosecutors are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying other potential victims of a local middle school teacher who is accused of sexually molesting his young female relative. Christopher Millette was arrested on December 31, 2014 and is currently being held on $1 million bail.
The abuse is said to have occurred between August 1, 2012 and December 28, 2014, during which time Millette was a seventh-grade science teacher at Valdez Middle School in Placentia. Millette was charged with one felony count of oral copulation or penetration with a child under the age of 10 and two felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor. Additionally, he faces a sentencing enhancement for substantial sexual conduct with a child. The defendant pleaded not guilty to these charges on January 5, 2015.
If convicted of all charges, Millette faces a maximum sentence of 19 years to life in prison and mandatory registration as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Until the case is resolved, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District has placed Millette on unpaid leave and has informed parents of the situation.
Although the victim did not attend Valdez Middle School, law enforcement is trying to determine whether there are other potential victims.
